Binaural Beats & Flotation Tanks – Achieving goals part 3

on August 30, 2018

No, Binaural Beats is not the name of a rock band

Binaural beats is the sound produced when two slightly different sound frequencies are heard simultaneously in the left and right ears.

Both binaural beats and flotation tanks affect the balance of the brain’s left and right hemispheres. Combine them together and those effects are enhanced. The effect of flotation on the brains hemispheres was discussed in a earlier blog.

Binaural BeatsThe way binaural beats work is that slightly different frequencies are played into the left and right speakers or headphones and your brain responds by producing a third sound, called a binaural beat, that encourages a desired brainwave activity.

The result is a focused, whole-brain state where the left and right hemispheres are working together.

How can they be used in a float centre?

At our own float center we offered binaural beats audio to clients who found them a great way to help them achieve goals whilst floating. You need good stereo speakers or under water headphones to get the best binaural beats effect in a flotation tank.

Once a person has floated 2-3 times they will quickly slip into a deep state of relaxation within 5 minutes of starting a float session. In that deeper state of increased theta and alpha waves there is a much greater receptivity to both auditory and visual input.

We had a lot of clients who loved to float and listen to the binaural beats audio. They used a variety of specifically designed audio programs for a variety of purposes. Programs are available to help you to sleep, meditate, concentrate , learn better, reduce some types of pain, develop your creativity etc.

Binaural beats – CD, MP3 plus Android and Apple Apps.

Binaural beats are widely available on-line in a range of audio formats to play through your flotation tank speakers or through underwater headphones. You can download from a choice of Apps from both the Android Play Store and Apple’s I-Tunes Store. the apps offer a variety of useful programs to help you to sleep, meditate, concentrate , learn better, reduce some types of pain, develop your creativity etc..
